Not Dead and at K'zoo

Despite what it might have looked like...I'm not yet dead.

And I'm at K'zoo. I'll be at the meet-up Friday morning.

Christmas spirit?

Being that I live in the fair state of Texas it looks and (at times) feels nothing like Christmas. Well, unless you make the mistake of going into a mall.

So I'm trying to get myself into the holiday spirit by watching some of my favorite Christmas movies.

So far on my list to re-watch this year:
The Muppet Christmas Carol
Scrooged
A Christmas Carol(with Captain Picard Patrick Stewart)
A Christmas Carol (Ultimate Collector's Edition)(B/W & Color)(with Alister Simms. I grew up watching this one.)
The Original Television Christmas Classics (Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer / Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town / Frosty the Snowman / Frosty Returns / The Little Drummer Boy)
and the not really Christmas movie but I count it anyways: Holiday Inn (Special Edition)

Anyone have any favorite holiday movies they want to recommend? Or ways to get into the spirit of the season?

Priceless and family side notes

Fall flowers from FTD: $30 dollars.

Making your grandmother's day: Priceless.

On a side note: My grandfather wanted to know when he'd get great-grand daughter, and that the furry four legged one didn't count. I told him to talk to my older cousin.

I have a date

I have a date on Friday.

I know, I'm rather shocked myself. Which I shouldn't be, considering I asked him.

Where will this date be taking place you might ask? The Opera. Lady Macbeth to be exact.

I'm going to be over hear panicking quietly, because I don't have the time or energy to date. I have so much going on with school between school-work and being President of the Medieval Club.

I still don't know why I asked him and not one of my girlfriends, I'm normally not this brave.

And I promise the next post will be about something Medieval. Promise.

Poetry Friday: Whatifs

Whatif by Shel Silverstein

Last night, while I lay thinking here,
some Whatifs crawled inside my ear
and pranced and partied all night long
and sang their same old Whatif song:
Whatif I'm dumb in school?
Whatif they've closed the swimming pool?
Whatif I get beat up?
Whatif there's poison in my cup?
Whatif I start to cry?
Whatif I get sick and die?
Whatif I flunk that test?
Whatif green hair grows on my chest?
Whatif nobody likes me?
Whatif a bolt of lightning strikes me?
Whatif I don't grow talle?
Whatif my head starts getting smaller?
Whatif the fish won't bite?
Whatif the wind tears up my kite?
Whatif they start a war?
Whatif my parents get divorced?
Whatif the bus is late?
Whatif my teeth don't grow in straight?
Whatif I tear my pants?
Whatif I never learn to dance?
Everything seems well, and then
the nighttime Whatifs strike again!

New Harry Potter book?

Maybe, but if so it will be a prequel book featuring Harry's father James (or perhaps a sequel featuring Harry's son, also named James Potter).

James Potter and the Hall of Elders' Crossing

WB say they know about it but won't say if it is their site. It is though very sleek and reminds me of JKR's website.

ETA: Is it a hoax, a fan-novel, or something else? Whatever it is it isn't a eight book.
